All four games have resulted in a suc cessive losing streak. Reidsville Flounces Roxboro In Opener, 64-45 Reidsville High’s Golden Lions took advantage of a cold- shooting Roxboro team and toppled the Rockets by a 64-45 margin. The Rockets hit the hoop for only two field goals in the first half and trailed at intermission by a 37-12 count. The Rockets, playing their season opener, were led by for ward Johnny Bradsher who scored 8 points and Johni Blanks and Joe Shull who also scored 8. Jordan Downs Rockets, 65-43 After taking an early lead Jordan was never overtaken as they downed the Rockets 65-43 in the conference opener for both teams. Playing for the first time in the new RHS gym, Johni Blanks led the scoring with 13, followed by Joe Shull with 11. Northern Slips by Rockets 46-40 The Northern Knights were hard pressed to beat a deter mined Roxboro team by 46-40. Johni Blanks once again led the Rockets with 13 points. The man agers, Reginald Strange, Allen Brown, and John Link are re sponsible for this task. These three hard-working boys keep the Rocket uniforms clean, warm-ups and towels available, water on the bench, and even have Cokes ready for the players in the dressing room at half-time! These boys tape the players’ ankles before the games and treat all minor injuries. They apply bandages, ice packs, tape cuts, and fix bruises. All first aid equipment and first aid sup plies are kept ready and in good shape by them. Orange Defeats Rockettes; Girls Meet Helena Tonight Roxboro girls played a fine opener game against Orange last Friday night. Orange played a fine defensive game which contributed greatly to their close win over the hot Roxboro team. The score at half- time was 12-8. The “Shower Five,” Johnny Bradsher, Joe Schull, Charles Rudder, Cleve Buch- anon and Ronnie Shepherd sing, “I Want To Go Home,” beautifully, but don’t they know anything else? Not only is there musical talent, but there is real brain power on that team! One day a JV player called “Shack” couldn’t find his shoes after practice. It seems one of the players must have jokingly hid his street shoes from him. Soon “Shack” had all the managers and every one in the dressing room organized in his “search party.” After about half an hour, he made a brilliant discovery. He had worn his tennis shoes to school; his street shoes were at home. WWWWW®' Season’s (greetings from the Motfcteer ^taff ment. To the disappointment of the crowd, Roxboro missed the last three free throws which could have tied or won the game for them. The final score was 19-17.
